"My inconsistent faith journey proves I'm not a real believer"
How it sounds in your head: Real Christians have steady faith trajectories. Your up-and-down belief, your seasons of doubt followed by desperation, prove you're not genuinely saved. If you were truly His, your faith would be more consistent.
"If we are faithless, He remains faithful; He cannot deny Himself."
-- 2 Timothy 2:13Source: religion - the false teaching that saving faith means never struggling instead of clinging to Jesus through the struggle
You watch others who seem to have unwavering steady faith while yours looks like a stock market crash chart. The inconsistency feels like evidence of fake faith rather than honest relationship.
He had enough faith to GET OUT of the boat, then immediately doubted and sank, then cried out and Jesus INSTANTLY grabbed him. His faith was inconsistent within SECONDS, and Jesus still saved him and still called him to leadership. Wavering didn't disqualify him.
I REFUSE the lie that inconsistent faith proves fake salvation. IT IS WRITTEN that if I am faithless, HE REMAINS FAITHFUL—my security is His grip, not mine. Peter's faith wavered in seconds on the water and Jesus still caught him and still made him the rock. IT IS WRITTEN that nothing can snatch me from His hand—including my own doubt cycles. I am Abraham's seed, covered by the BARAK blessing that sustained through Abraham's Egypt lies and Canaan lies. My position is GIFT, not performance graph.
The Father isn't checking your faith consistency chart—He's the one who held onto Peter when he started sinking and asked 'Why did you doubt?' not 'You're disqualified.' Your wavering doesn't change His holding; He's already decided you're His.
