"My intellectual questions and analytical mind disqualify me from childlike faith that sees miracles."
How it sounds in your head: You think too much. You analyze, question, need evidence. Jesus said 'unless you become like children'—but you can't shut off the lawyer brain, the engineer mind, the skeptical filter. Your intelligence blocks simple faith.
"Jesus said to him, 'You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.'"
-- Matthew 22:37Anti-intellectual Christianity creates false dichotomy between thinking and believing, making God opposed to the mind He created.
You've watched simple believers seem to experience God easily while your educated mind generates questions and complexities. The tension between intellectual honesty and faith feels irreconcilable.
Paul went to the synagogue and for three Sabbaths REASONED with them from the Scriptures, explaining and proving that Christ had to suffer and rise. His intellectual arguments led people to faith—thinking and believing aren't opposites.
I REFUSE the lie that my analytical mind disqualifies me from faith. IT IS WRITTEN in Matthew 22:37 that I'm to love God with all my MIND—He created my intellect for His glory, not as a faith barrier. Paul REASONED from Scripture and saw breakthrough. IT IS WRITTEN in Colossians 2:3 that in Christ 'are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge'—my thinking isn't the problem; thinking APART from Christ is. My mind submitted to His Word becomes a weapon. I am Abraham's seed by covenant—the blessing doesn't require me to be intellectually lobotomized, just Christ-connected.
The Father doesn't need you to dumb down to receive from Him. He gave you that mind—questions, analysis, intellect—and invites you to bring ALL of it into relationship with Him where revelation meets reason.
