"If I really believed, I'd already have the breakthrough"
How it sounds in your head: It's been months. Years. If my faith was real, this would've happened by now. I'm clearly doing something wrong spiritually. Maybe I'm just going through religious motions without genuine belief.
"Immediately the father of the child cried out and said with tears, 'Lord, I believe; help my unbelief!'"
-- Mark 9:24Performance-based theology that turns faith into a WORK you perform rather than a GIFT you receive.
You see instant testimonies on social media while your situation drags on. The unspoken message: their faith was real, yours is pretend. Time becomes the measurement of faith validity.
Thomas said 'I will NOT believe unless I see' - literally declaring UNBELIEF. Jesus appeared specifically FOR Thomas, invited him to touch the wounds, and called him 'My Lord and my God.' Jesus didn't shame him or withhold. He MET Thomas in his doubt and Thomas received full revelation.
I REFUSE the lie that breakthrough timing measures faith validity. IT IS WRITTEN that a father admitted unbelief with TEARS and Jesus healed his son IMMEDIATELY anyway. My doubt doesn't disqualify me from the BARAK blessing that covered Abraham's lies and Jacob's deceptions. God's promises aren't conditional on my emotional certainty - they're based on CHRIST'S FINISHED WORK. IT IS WRITTEN there is no condemnation for those in Christ Jesus. My Father doesn't measure my confession purity before releasing provision. I am ALREADY blessed in heavenly places with EVERY spiritual blessing. The prodigal got the robe, ring, and calf BEFORE he cleaned up his theology.
Your Father isn't withholding breakthrough until your belief reaches some invisible threshold. He's the one who GIVES faith as a gift (Romans 12:3) - even the ability to believe comes FROM Him, not from you. Thomas got exactly what he needed to believe, and so will you.
