"My grandkids will inherit my eating disorder and body shame."
How it sounds in your head: You watch your granddaughter and see her starting to comment on her body. You panic, thinking you've passed down the curse—your disorder will haunt another generation because you never fully healed.
"Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us... that the blessing of Abraham might come upon the Gentiles in Christ Jesus."
-- Galatians 3:13-14Enemy's lie that generational curses operate in New Covenant believers and that your struggles automatically transfer to your lineage.
You can trace disordered eating through your mother, maybe your grandmother. You see patterns repeating, and genetics and environment suggest the cycle continues. The evidence feels damning.
Rahab was a prostitute from a cursed city condemned to destruction. She and her entire household were saved, and she entered the Messianic line—Jesus descended from her. One moment of faith broke generational curse and established generational blessing.
I REFUSE the lie that my struggles curse my grandchildren. IT IS WRITTEN that Christ REDEEMED us from the curse—past tense, finished work. The enemy has NO LEGAL RIGHT to my lineage. IT IS WRITTEN that the blessing of Abraham comes upon me and my seed. My grandchildren are under the BARAK, not under my eating disorder. The blood of Jesus severed every generational curse at the cross. I declare the blessing of the Lord over my children's children—health, freedom, peace with their bodies. They are blessed in the city and in the field, blessed in their eating and their identity. The curse STOPS here. The blessing FLOWS from here.
The Father doesn't look at your family tree and sigh over the dysfunction. He looks at the blood of Jesus applied to your lineage and sees righteousness, blessing, breakthrough. He's preparing your granddaughter for freedom, not repeating your pain.
