"My family's wealth means we don't have real problems—I'm not allowed to struggle or complain."
How it sounds in your head: When you're sad, people say 'what do you have to be depressed about?' like money should fix everything. You feel fake for hurting when you have so much. Your pain doesn't count compared to people with 'real' problems.
"These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world."
-- John 16:33World system that equates financial blessing with immunity from pain, invalidating emotional needs when physical needs are met.
Adults literally say 'you're so blessed' when you try to share struggles, dismissing your feelings. If you're sad with money, you're ungrateful; if you're sad without it, at least you have a reason.
He was the greatest man in the East—massive wealth, huge family, incredible blessing—and still experienced devastating loss and pain. God didn't invalidate his suffering because of his prior wealth; He showed up in the midst of it and restored him.
I REFUSE the lie that my blessings disqualify my pain! IT IS WRITTEN that in this world I WILL have tribulation—Jesus promised it to everyone, not just the poor. My struggles are REAL and my emotions are VALID regardless of my bank account. IT IS WRITTEN that many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers from them ALL. Job was blessed AND suffered, and God met him with compassion, not dismissal. I am allowed to hurt, allowed to struggle, and my Father runs toward me IN my pain, not after I prove it's 'bad enough'!
The Father doesn't check your financial statement before deciding if your tears are legitimate—He runs to you the moment He sees you from far off, regardless of whether you're broke or blessed. Your pain matters because YOU matter, and He's already moving toward you with comfort.
