"My family's financial struggles are my fault because I cost too much."
How it sounds in your head: I hear my parents arguing about money after I ask for new shoes or school stuff. I need things for sports, food, clothes - I'm expensive. Maybe if I wasn't here, they'd have enough. I feel guilty every time I need something.
"And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus."
-- Philippians 4:19Enemy: Accusation and false guilt, making him carry responsibility for adult financial issues that aren't his burden to bear.
He directly connects his requests with parental stress and arguments. Children naturally assume they're the center of cause-and-effect, and financial tension after his needs feels like proof he's the problem.
A widow had only enough flour and oil for one last meal for herself and her son before they would starve to death - she was certain her son would die because she couldn't provide. Elijah showed up and said give me food first; miraculously, the flour and oil never ran out during the entire famine. God multiplied provision specifically to cover the needs of her son - the child wasn't the problem draining resources; he was the reason God showed up with supernatural supply.
I REFUSE the lie that I'm a financial burden! IT IS WRITTEN that my God supplies ALL my need according to HIS riches in glory, not according to my parents' stress or bank account. My needs aren't too much for Him - He's not limited by lack. IT IS WRITTEN: My Father gives good gifts to His children, and I'm His blessed son with the BARAK of Abraham over my life. That blessing means provision, abundance, and favor. I don't apologize for needing things - God loves providing for me! The enemy wants me carrying false guilt, but there is NO condemnation in Christ. I receive my Father's abundant supply with joy, knowing I'm worth His best!
Your Father doesn't see your needs as problems to solve or burdens to bear - He sees opportunities to show you He's a good Dad who loves providing for His kids. He's not stressed about your school supplies or shoes; He owns the cattle on a thousand hills and delights in giving you what you need.
