"My doubt killed the miracle I was supposed to receive."
How it sounds in your head: There was that moment I questioned, that night I wondered if God was even listening. That's when I lost it. If I had just held on to belief without wavering, the breakthrough would have come. My doubt murdered my miracle.
"Immediately the father of the child cried out and said with tears, 'Lord, I believe; help my unbelief!'"
-- Mark 9:24Source: Teaching that makes God's power contingent on your perfect, unwavering mental performance.
You remember the exact moment doubt crept in, and it feels like that's when everything fell apart. The sermon said 'doubt is the enemy of faith' and now you're convinced your questions cost you everything.
Thomas refused to believe Jesus rose unless he physically touched the wounds - blatant, stated unbelief. Jesus didn't disqualify him or make him wait - He showed up specifically FOR Thomas, invited him to touch, and called him blessed.
I REFUSE the lie that my doubt has veto power over God's promises. IT IS WRITTEN that a man said 'I believe; help my unbelief' and got his miracle THAT MOMENT. My questions don't disqualify me from breakthrough. God is not so weak that my wavering thoughts overpower His covenant faithfulness. IT IS WRITTEN that nothing can separate me from the love of God in Christ - and that includes my doubts. I am blessed with the Abrahamic blessing, not because my mind never questions, but because JESUS never wavers. The Father doesn't withdraw when I'm honest about my struggles - He RUNS toward honesty faster than religious performance.
The Father isn't scandalized by your doubt - He's moved by your HONESTY. Like Jesus appearing specifically for Thomas, He meets you IN the questions, not after you've resolved them all. Your doubt didn't kill anything - the miracle was never dependent on your mental perfection.
