"My child's return depends on them hitting rock bottom first."
How it sounds in your head: They're still too comfortable in their sin. They need to experience real consequences, lose everything, face total disaster. Only then will they come back. Maybe I should stop helping so they hit bottom faster.
"And when Jesus came to the place, He looked up and saw him, and said to him, 'Zacchaeus, make haste and come down, for today I must stay at your house.'"
-- Luke 19:5Religious formula suggesting God requires maximum pain before extending rescue.
The prodigal came back from a pigpen. Every testimony you've heard involves a dramatic rock bottom moment. Your child still seems too comfortable, not desperate enough yet.
Jesus encountered him at the HEIGHT of his corrupt career—wealthy, successful, still actively stealing. Didn't wait for him to lose everything or hit bottom. One encounter with Jesus transformed him IMMEDIATELY that same day.
I REFUSE the lie that my child needs rock bottom before breakthrough. IT IS WRITTEN in Luke 19:5 that Jesus called Zacchaeus down from success, not up from ruin. Romans 2:4 says God's KINDNESS leads to repentance. IT IS WRITTEN that the prodigal remembered his father's goodness, not his own unworthiness. I stand on the BARAK blessing—God blessed Jacob while he was still deceiving. My child can be encountered at ANY point, and I declare a divine interruption is happening NOW, not after more devastation.
The Father doesn't need your child in a pigpen to reach them. He's reaching for them RIGHT NOW, at this exact place, with the same relentless love that reached you before you deserved it.
