"My child's lifestyle and choices have disqualified them from God's blessing forever."
How it sounds in your head: The things they've done, the life they're living - it's too dark, too sinful. Surely there's a line you can cross where God's grace runs out. They've crossed it.
"Moreover the law entered that the offense might abound. But where sin abounded, grace abounded much more."
-- Romans 5:20Religious performance doctrine that puts limits on the finished work of the cross and measures grace by human standards.
The severity of their choices shocks you, and church culture has taught that certain sins are unforgivable. You can't imagine God welcoming someone living this way.
Most evil king in Judah's history - practiced witchcraft, sacrificed his own sons to demons, filled Jerusalem with innocent blood. Yet when he repented in captivity, God heard him and RESTORED HIS KINGDOM instantly. No probation, no proving himself - immediate restoration.
I REFUSE the lie that my child is disqualified by their choices. IT IS WRITTEN that where sin abounds, grace abounds MUCH MORE. There is no sin Jesus' blood cannot cover, no lifestyle His grace cannot transform. IT IS WRITTEN that while we were YET SINNERS, Christ died for us. My child doesn't have to clean up first - the Father runs to prodigals while they still smell like pigs. The BARAK blessing covered Abraham the liar and Jacob the deceiver. My child is covered by better covenant blood, and no sin disqualifies them from the Father's embrace.
The Father is not waiting for your child to deserve grace - He's waiting for the moment they turn even slightly toward home so He can RUN. The robe, ring, and sandals are already prepared, and nothing they've done has changed His mind about them.
