"My anger and harsh words over the years have ruined my witness and God's opinion of me."
How it sounds in your head: You exploded at your kids, your wife, employees. You said things you can never take back. A man of God controls his tongue, and you failed repeatedly. God can't trust you or use you after all that rage.
"As far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our transgressions from us."
-- Psalm 103:12Source: religious performance standards that measure worthiness by emotional control and the false belief that anger is unforgivable.
He remembers specific incidents—words that wounded, explosions that damaged relationships. Those memories replay with vivid shame, and the hurt he caused feels like permanent evidence against him.
Peter was so angry he grabbed a SWORD and cut off a man's ear in front of Jesus. Later he cursed and denied Jesus three times. Yet Jesus didn't disqualify him—He RESTORED him instantly and made him the rock on which the church was built.
I REFUSE the lie that my anger disqualified me. IT IS WRITTEN that God removed my transgressions as far as east is from west—they are GONE, not held against me. Peter cut off a man's ear and denied Jesus with cursing, yet Jesus called him the ROCK. My harsh words don't define me; Christ's FINISHED work does. IT IS WRITTEN there is NO condemnation. I am not my worst moments. I am HIS righteousness, and my witness is restored by grace, not erased by failure.
The Father doesn't replay your outbursts on a loop—He sees you through the lens of Jesus' perfection. Like Peter who was restored immediately after cursing Jesus' name, you are welcomed, trusted, and commissioned, not because you earned it back, but because sonship was never based on behavior.
