"Because I struggled with same-sex attraction or gender confusion, I'll never be fully accepted or used by God."
How it sounds in your head: I've felt things I know the church says are wrong. Even if I don't act on them, the feelings themselves make me feel like God sees me as a problem to manage, not a daughter to celebrate. I'm tolerated at best, disqualified at worst.
"And you, being dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He has made alive together with Him, having forgiven you ALL trespasses, having wiped out the handwriting of requirements that was against us, which was contrary to us. And He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross."
-- Colossians 2:13-14Source: Religion creates tiers of sin and implies sexual/identity struggles put you in permanent 'other' status requiring endless proving.
She hears whispered conversations, sees the 'hate the sin, love the sinner' faces, feels like she has to hide parts of herself to be safe. The church's discomfort makes God's acceptance feel conditional.
This woman had five husbands and was living with a man she wasn't married to—sexually broken, culturally despised, religiously 'other.' Jesus didn't make her clean up first. He offered her living water IMMEDIATELY and made her the FIRST evangelist to her city. Her entire town believed because of her—the sexually broken woman became the breakthrough preacher.
I REFUSE the lie that my struggles disqualify me from full acceptance. IT IS WRITTEN: He forgave me ALL trespasses and nailed the handwriting against me to the cross. There is NO condemnation for those in Christ—not 'less' for me, NONE. IT IS WRITTEN: The Samaritan woman—sexually broken, culturally rejected—became the first evangelist Jesus sent. I am Abraham's seed, BARAK blessing, loved at my worst, celebrated at my most confused. The Father ran toward me, robe and ring, while I still smelled like pigs.
The Father isn't holding you at arm's length until you 'fix' your feelings. He's running, robe in hand, throwing a party for you TODAY—not when you're sorted out, NOW. Ring, robe, sandals, full sonship, zero waiting period.
