"I have to prove I've changed before God will trust me again."
How it sounds in your head: You're on spiritual probation. God is watching to see if you'll mess up again before He gives you anything important. You need a clean track record first. Prove you're serious, then maybe He'll trust you with more.
"But the father said to his servants, 'Bring out the best robe and put it on him, and put a ring on his hand and sandals on his feet. And bring the fatted calf here and kill it, and let us eat and be merry; for this my son was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found.'"

That's how school works—detention, probation, earning privileges back. Parents make you prove you're trustworthy again after breaking trust. It seems logical God would too.
Manasseh was Judah's WORST king—sacrificed his own sons to demons, filled Jerusalem with innocent blood, led the nation into abomination. When he cried out from prison, God INSTANTLY heard him and restored him to his kingdom—no probation, no waiting period, full authority back immediately.
I REFUSE the lie that I'm on probation with God. IT IS WRITTEN that the Father gave the prodigal full restoration BEFORE he proved anything—robe, ring, sandals, and feast INSTANTLY. I don't earn trust back; I receive it as a gift. The BARAK blessed Jacob IMMEDIATELY after his deception with no waiting period. IT IS WRITTEN in Hebrews 4:16 that I come BOLDLY to the throne of grace. I declare I am fully trusted RIGHT NOW because I'm fully HIS.
The Father didn't make the prodigal sleep in the servant quarters 'until he proves himself'—He threw a party the same day. You're not on probation. You're HOME, and home means full sonship NOW.
