"I got kicked out of youth group, so I'm too far gone for church or ministry."
How it sounds in your head: They literally removed me for my behavior. If the church doesn't want me, God probably doesn't either. I'm the kid they use as a warning example. There's no way back from being officially rejected by church leadership.
"And he arose and came to his father. But when he was still a great way off, his father saw him and had compassion, and ran and fell on his neck and kissed him."
-- Luke 15:20Source: Religion that equates church rejection with God's rejection, contradicting Jesus who ate with outcasts and tax collectors.
Being physically removed from a Christian space feels like being removed from God's presence. When leaders who represent God say 'you can't be here,' it feels like God saying 'you can't be Mine.'
This woman had five failed marriages and was living with a guy—the town outcast, so rejected she came to the well at NOON to avoid people. Jesus didn't just accept her; He revealed He was the MESSIAH to her FIRST, then sent her as the first evangelist to her city.
I REFUSE the lie that church rejection equals God's rejection. IT IS WRITTEN that while I was still FAR OFF, the Father SAW me, had COMPASSION, and RAN to me. Jesus didn't eat with the 'good church people'—He ate with tax collectors and sinners, the ones religion rejected. IT IS WRITTEN that nothing can separate me from the love of God in Christ Jesus—not church discipline, not leadership decisions, NOTHING. The woman at the well was the town outcast, yet Jesus revealed His identity to HER first and made her an evangelist. I am ACCEPTED in the Beloved, SEATED in heavenly places, and my calling is IRREVOCABLE. The Father's house has no bouncers—just a Dad who runs toward prodigals.
The Father isn't asking for your youth group permission slip—He's throwing open the door and running toward you while you're still covered in the mess. Church may need boundaries, but the Father's love has NONE; you're welcome at His table right now, no probation required.
