THE LIE Disqualified

"Because I come from a broken or dysfunctional family, I'll never have the calling or anointing of someone from a 'godly' home."

How it sounds in your head: I see girls whose parents are pastors or missionaries and think they have a head start I'll never have. My family is a mess—divorce, addiction, abuse. I feel like I'm starting 50 steps behind and will always be playing catch-up spiritually.

IT IS WRITTEN 1 Corinthians 1:27-28

"But God has chosen the foolish things of the world to put to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to put to shame the things which are mighty; and the base things of the world and the things which are despised God has chosen, and the things which are not, to bring to nothing the things that are."

Jephthah was the son of a prostitute, rejected by his family, driven out with nothing. He went from outcast to MIGHTY WARRIOR to JUDGE of Israel to HEBREWS 11 HALL OF FAITH. God didn't pick the 'legitimate' sons—He picked the rejected one and made him a deliverer of the nation.
