"I've lost all control over my weight and appetite—I'm just waiting to die anyway."
How it sounds in your head: Why does it matter what you eat or how much you weigh? You're in your eighties—you've earned the right to eat what you want. Or maybe you feel guilty every time you eat, like you're hastening your death. Either way, food has become enemy or idol.
"Who satisfies your mouth with good things, so that your youth is renewed like the eagle's."
-- Psalm 103:5Enemy using either hopelessness or condemnation to destroy peace around basic provision and nourishment.
Medications affect appetite, taste changes, metabolism is shot, and doctors keep changing dietary restrictions. It feels like a losing battle you're too tired to fight.
Elijah was suicidal, exhausted, wanting to die. God's response wasn't rebuke—He gave him FOOD and REST, then MORE food. After two meals provided by angels, Elijah had strength for 40 days on that nourishment alone—supernatural provision through eating.
I REFUSE the lie that I've lost control over my body or that food is my enemy. IT IS WRITTEN that God SATISFIES my mouth with good things and renews my youth like the eagle. I am not under condemnation about eating—there is NO condemnation in Christ Jesus. IT IS WRITTEN in Deuteronomy 28 that I am blessed in my basket and kneading bowl—my food is BLESSED by the BARAK. I receive nourishment with thanksgiving, knowing my Father provides good gifts. I eat in PEACE, not guilt or despair.
The Father isn't monitoring your plate with a scorecard—He's the one who spread a table before you in the presence of your enemies. He wants you SATISFIED and nourished, enjoying His provision without shame or fear.
