"I've disappointed God too many times. He's tired of me and my repeated failures."
How it sounds in your head: You've confessed the same sins for decades. Promised to change and failed again. How many times can you come back before He's just done? You imagine Him sighing when you pray, exhausted by your inability to get it right. Surely there's a limit to His patience.
"Through the LORD's mercies we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness."
-- Lamentations 3:22-23Religious teaching that God's patience has limits and grace runs out after repeated failure.
You HAVE struggled with the same sins for years. You HAVE made promises and broken them. You DO feel like a disappointment because religion taught you God keeps score and you're in the red.
Peter denied Jesus three times after PROMISING he never would—epic, public, repeated failure. Yet Jesus didn't say 'I'm tired of you.' He appeared to Peter privately first, then publicly restored him with NO probation period, NO 'prove yourself' process—INSTANT full reinstatement.
I REFUSE the lie that God is tired of me. IT IS WRITTEN that His compassions fail NOT and are NEW every morning—meaning this morning, after last night's failure, His mercy is FRESH, not depleted. The Father doesn't sigh when I approach; He RUNS toward me like the prodigal's father. IT IS WRITTEN there is NO condemnation for those in Christ—not 'less condemnation after repeated failure' but ZERO, EVER. I am not exhausting God's patience; I'm experiencing His ENDLESS supply of grace. I stand under the BARAK blessing that covered Abraham through repeated lies, Jacob through ongoing deception, David through adultery and murder. The blessing isn't behavior-based—it's COVENANT-based, and covenant doesn't fatigue. I declare I am NOT a disappointment; I am the BELOVED SON in whom He is well pleased, not because of my track record but because of JESUS' track record credited to me. His mercies are new THIS MORNING.
The Father isn't counting your failures or rolling His eyes when you return. Every single morning, His compassion toward you is BRAND NEW—as fresh as the first day you believed. You can't exhaust grace that's INFINITE, and He celebrates your return every time.
