"I'm unlovable because my body doesn't look like it used to."
How it sounds in your head: The mirror in your thirties is cruel. Post-baby body, or the body that hasn't produced babies yet and feels like it's running out of time. Weight that won't shift like it did in your twenties. You see him look at younger women and feel invisible.
"For the Lord does not see as man sees; for man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart."
-- 1 Samuel 16:7Source: Cultural worship of youth and fertility that reduces women to physical vessels, measuring worth by waist size and reproductive status.
Your body has changed—stretch marks, C-section scars, weight, aging—and the culture screams that beauty equals love-worthiness. Social media shows you filtered perfection while you're dealing with real flesh, and you feel like you're losing the only currency you were taught matters.
Called ugly compared to her sister Rachel—'weak eyes' meant unattractive—unloved by her husband who wanted Rachel instead. God didn't make her prettier; He OPENED HER WOMB and made her the mother of JUDAH (Messianic line) and the majority of the twelve tribes, giving her significance that beauty never could.
I REFUSE the lie that my worth is measured by my waist size or how closely I match a filtered image. IT IS WRITTEN: 'Man looks at outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.' My body is the TEMPLE OF THE HOLY SPIRIT, precious and honored exactly as it is today. IT IS WRITTEN: 'I am fearfully and wonderfully made.' My lovability is not determined by the mirror but by the cross. The BARAK blessing covers me—I am blessed coming in and going out, not because of how I look but because of whose I am. I am LOVED COMPLETELY at this weight, in this body, in this moment.
The Father doesn't love you at goal weight and tolerate you at current weight—He adores you now, runs toward you now, delights over you with singing NOW. He's not waiting for you to look different to embrace you; He's embracing you while you're still self-conscious about the mirror.
