"I pushed everyone away my whole life. Now it's too late to be loved."
How it sounds in your head: You were emotionally distant for 70 years. You didn't know how to say 'I love you' to your kids. You worked instead of connecting. Now they visit out of duty, not love. You had your chance and you blew it. Too late.
"So I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten, the crawling locust, the consuming locust, and the chewing locust."
-- Joel 2:25Enemy uses masculine emotional suppression patterns to build a prison of regret, suggesting love has a statute of limitations.
He can count on one hand the times he told his children he loved them. He sees his grandkids barely know him. Decades of emotional walls can't be undone in the final chapter. The pattern feels permanent.
A criminal who'd lived his ENTIRE LIFE violently, relationally broken, said one sentence of faith. Jesus' response: 'TODAY you will be with Me in Paradise.' Decades of relational failure erased in one moment.
I REFUSE the lie that it's too late for love. IT IS WRITTEN that God restores the years the locusts have eaten—and He does it INSTANTLY. Every wall I built, every 'I love you' I didn't say, every moment I chose work over connection—the blood of Jesus covers it ALL. I am not defined by 70 years of emotional distance; I am defined by the Father who RAN to the prodigal. IT IS WRITTEN that there is NO condemnation for me in Christ Jesus. My family's love isn't earned by decades of perfect connection—it's a GIFT available right NOW.
The Father isn't counting the decades you were emotionally absent—He's celebrating the moment you're present NOW. One tear means more than a thousand stoic years. Your kids don't need a lifetime of perfect connection; they need one genuine 'I love you' before you go—and God is orchestrating that moment right now.
