"In a room full of people, you're still alone. Surrounded but unseen. Present but not included."
How it sounds in your head: You're at the gathering, the meeting, the family dinner, but the conversations flow around you, not through you. They laugh at inside jokes you're not part of. You're geographically present but relationally absent.
"How precious also are Your thoughts to me, O God! How great is the sum of them! If I should count them, they would be more in number than the sand; When I awake, I am still with You."
-- Psalm 139:17-18Enemy isolation tactic exploiting mid-life transitions to separate you from community and make you believe connection is impossible.
At last week's party, you stood in the circle for twenty minutes and nobody asked you a single question. Your contribution to the conversation was met with polite nods and topic changes. You left early and nobody texted.
Rejected, alone in the desert, invisible to everyone who mattered, Hagar encountered God and declared, 'You are the God who SEES me.' God didn't just notice her—He APPEARED to her and provided everything she needed INSTANTLY.
I REFUSE the lie that I am alone or unseen. IT IS WRITTEN that God's thoughts toward me outnumber the sand—I am CONSTANTLY on His mind. I am never invisible to the One who matters most. IT IS WRITTEN that I am blessed in the city and in the field—the Barak blessing means I am FAVORED everywhere I go. Even when Hagar was cast out and alone, God SAW her and provided immediately. Even when I feel surrounded but alone, I am STILL with Him. I am not defined by who acknowledges me in the room but by the God who can't stop thinking about me. I am SEEN. I am KNOWN. I am never alone.
The Father isn't waiting for the crowd to notice you—He's already counted every hair on your head and numbered your days with purpose. While humans offer polite nods, God offers obsessive, relentless, can't-stop-thinking-about-you love.
