"My voice doesn't carry weight. When I speak, people don't really listen or take me seriously."
How it sounds in your head: You contribute in meetings and the conversation keeps moving like you didn't speak. You make suggestions that get ignored until someone else says the same thing and gets credit. People talk over you. Your opinions don't shift decisions. You've learned to just stay quiet because speaking costs energy for zero return.
"Listen, for I will speak of excellent things, and from the opening of my lips will come right things; for my mouth will speak truth; wickedness is an abomination to my lips. All the words of my mouth are with righteousness; nothing crooked or perverse is in them."
-- Proverbs 8:6-8Enemy: Accusation that you lack the authority, credibility, or gravitas that makes words matter.
It's measurable—your ideas get bypassed, your input overlooked. Even in friend groups, louder voices dominate while yours fades. You don't command respect when you speak. The evidence is in the pattern of being spoken over and ignored.
Literally said 'I am slow of speech and slow of tongue'—had a documented speech impediment, zero public speaking ability. God's response wasn't 'fix your speech first' but 'I will be with your MOUTH and teach you what to say.' Moses's weak voice delivered the words that freed millions, confronted Pharaoh, and parted the Red Sea. God's authority, not human eloquence.
I REFUSE the lie that my voice lacks weight or authority. IT IS WRITTEN that when I speak truth, I speak excellent and right things—the Word of God in my mouth carries heaven's authority. My voice is not measured by human response but by divine truth. IT IS WRITTEN in Mark 11:23 that whoever says to this mountain 'be removed' and does not doubt in his heart, but believes those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says. My words carry creative power. I carry the BARAK blessing where the LORD commands blessing on everything I set my hand to—including my mouth. My Father has given me the tongue of the learned to speak a word in season. I speak with the authority of a son.
Your Father doesn't measure your voice by human response—He gave you His WORD to speak, and His Word never returns void. Like Moses with a speech impediment becoming God's mouthpiece, your weakness is the platform for His authority.
