"I'm too tired to pray, worship, or even read my Bible anymore."
How it sounds in your head: Even spiritual activities drain you now. You fall asleep trying to pray. You can't focus on Scripture. You're too exhausted for the very things that might help. You're failing spiritually because you're failing physically. God must be disappointed.
"Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest."
-- Matthew 11:28Religious performance + enemy condemnation that spiritual activity requires human energy and failing physically means failing spiritually.
Falling asleep during prayer is real and repeated. The Bible sits unopened because reading requires energy that isn't there. Even worship feels like work instead of rest.
The disciples fell asleep from EXHAUSTION in Gethsemane during Jesus' most intense prayer moment. Jesus didn't condemn them—He understood they were 'sleeping from sorrow.' He woke them with compassion, not condemnation, because exhaustion isn't spiritual failure.
I REFUSE the lie that I'm too tired for God. IT IS WRITTEN 'Come to Me, all who are weary'—the invitation is FOR the exhausted, not the energetic. The disciples fell asleep in the Garden and Jesus didn't condemn them—He understood. My Father doesn't require performance energy for connection. IT IS WRITTEN that there is NO CONDEMNATION for those in Christ Jesus—none for falling asleep during prayer, none for exhaustion, NONE. The BARAK blessing means God RUNS toward me while I still smell like exhaustion, like the prodigal's father RAN while the son still stank. Prayer isn't WORK—it's REST. Worship isn't EFFORT—it's receiving. I come AS I AM, tired and all, and He gives ME rest.
The Father isn't disappointed in your exhaustion—He's inviting you to COME TIRED and receive rest. He's not waiting for you to have energy to approach Him; He's already running toward you with the robe and ring while you're still exhausted.
