"I'm too tired to keep fighting—I just want peace even if it means giving up."
How it sounds in your head: I'm 70-something and exhausted. I don't have the energy for another fight, another disappointment, another attempt. Maybe peace means accepting defeat. Maybe peace means separate bedrooms or separate lives. I just want REST.
"Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls."
-- Matthew 11:28-29Enemy: presents false peace (surrender to death) versus true peace (rest in resurrection).
Her body is physically exhausted, and the thought of more conflict feels unbearable. The world equates peace with absence of conflict, making giving up feel like wisdom.
Elijah was so exhausted and depressed he prayed to die, saying 'It is enough! Now, LORD, take my life.' He collapsed under a tree. God didn't rebuke him—He sent an angel with food and water, let him sleep TWICE, and then gave him 40 days of strength from TWO MEALS. God doesn't condemn exhaustion—He FEEDS it and turns it into supernatural strength INSTANTLY.
I REFUSE the lie that peace means surrender or that I'm too tired to see breakthrough. IT IS WRITTEN in Matthew 11:28-29 that Jesus gives REST to the weary and heavy laden—not through giving up but through giving it TO HIM. True peace is HIS PRESENCE, not absence of marriage. IT IS WRITTEN that God fed Elijah in his exhaustion and gave him 40 days of strength from one meal—SUPERNATURAL STRENGTH when I'm depleted. I am Abraham's seed, and the BARAK blessing carries me when I can't walk. I rest in HIS strength, not mine, and I declare that His rest in my soul produces resurrection in my marriage.
The Father sees your exhaustion and isn't asking you to muster more strength—He's running toward you with the bread of heaven that gives you 40 days of strength from one bite. Like Elijah sleeping under the tree, He's letting you REST while He fights your battles, and when you wake up, the victory is already won. Peace isn't in giving up—it's in receiving HIS STRENGTH right now.
