"My wife has become someone I don't recognize—the person I married is gone and not coming back."
How it sounds in your head: She used to be fun, light, adventurous. Now she's angry, exhausted, critical, distant. I married one person and ended up with someone completely different. The woman I fell in love with is gone forever.
"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new."
-- 2 Corinthians 5:17Enemy—deception making you see the temporary as permanent and the current as irreversible.
The change is real—motherhood, stress, disappointments have transformed her into someone harder, more guarded, less joyful. You look at old photos and wonder where that person went and if she's ever coming back.
Job's wife told him to 'curse God and die'—she was bitter, hopeless, broken. Yet when God restored Job, He restored EVERYTHING—including his wife. They had 10 more children together, lived 140 more years in blessing. The bitter wife became part of the greatest comeback story in Scripture.
I REFUSE the lie that my wife is permanently changed for the worse. IT IS WRITTEN that in Christ she is a NEW CREATION—old things pass away, ALL things become new. IT IS WRITTEN that God restores the years the locusts have eaten, bringing back joy, lightness, beauty. I am not married to temporary hardship—I am married to a daughter of the King who is being transformed from glory to glory. The BARAK blessing over my marriage protected and restored Job's wife after she told him to curse God. My wife receives supernatural restoration, renewed joy, and transformed heart NOW.
The Father isn't watching her hardness and sighing—He's actively pouring oil on the wounds, softening her heart, restoring her laughter. He's already celebrating the woman she's becoming, not mourning who she was.
