"I'm too old now for God to use me or do anything significant through my life."
How it sounds in your head: I'm in my eighties. The useful years are behind me. I can't serve like I used to. I can't remember like I should. All I can do is sit and wait to die. God used me when I was younger, maybe, but now I'm just taking up space.
"They shall still bear fruit in old age; they shall be fresh and flourishing."
-- Psalm 92:14World's lie that usefulness expires with youth and ability—contradicts the God who uses the aged, weak, and forgotten for His greatest works.
Physical limitations are real. Memory fails. Energy is gone. Society treats you as irrelevant, and even churches often sideline the elderly. It feels TRUE that your useful days are over.
Caleb was 85 years old when he said, 'Give me this MOUNTAIN'—not a rocking chair, a MOUNTAIN. He claimed the hardest territory, drove out giants, and conquered the land at an age when most are in assisted living. God's best assignment for him came at 85, not 25.
I REFUSE the lie that I'm too old for God to use me. IT IS WRITTEN that I shall STILL bear fruit in old age, be FRESH and FLOURISHING—not used to be fruitful, but PRESENT TENSE. Like Caleb at 85 who conquered mountains, my greatest assignments may be NOW. IT IS WRITTEN: His strength is made perfect in weakness. My limitations magnify HIS power. The BARAK blessing doesn't retire at 80. I am FRESH, FLOURISHING, and FRUITFUL today. God's best may be RIGHT NOW, not decades ago. I am USEFUL, ANOINTED, and PURPOSEFUL at this very moment.
The Father doesn't put you on a shelf when you hit 80—He positions you for assignments that require the wisdom, endurance, and faith that ONLY comes with age. Your limitations don't limit Him; they showcase His power. He's not done with you; He's just getting started.
