"I'm too logical and analytical to have the blind faith others seem to have"
How it sounds in your head: Everyone else just 'feels God's presence' while I need evidence and reasons. Maybe I'm too cerebral for this. The worship songs about surrendering logic feel like they're asking me to betray my own mind.
"Come now, and let us reason together, says the LORD, though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red like crimson, they shall be as wool."
-- Isaiah 1:18Anti-intellectual church culture demands 'just believe' instead of 'come let us reason'—but God invented logic.
Her church likely emphasizes emotional experience over intellectual engagement, making her analytical nature feel like a spiritual deficit. She's never been told that God created her logical mind as a gift, not a barrier.
Luke was a physician—trained in observation, evidence, and scientific method. He investigated everything 'carefully' and 'in order' before writing his Gospel, interviewing eyewitnesses and examining documents. God chose an analytical investigator to write a quarter of the New Testament.
I REFUSE the lie that my analytical mind is a spiritual handicap. IT IS WRITTEN that God invites me to REASON together with Him—logic is welcome at His table. Luke the physician investigated carefully and wrote Scripture; God celebrates analytical investigation. IT IS WRITTEN that we love God with all our MIND, not despite it. I am the BARAK blessed daughter created with both logic and faith by the God who invented both. My questions aren't doubt—they're the analytical worship of a mind He designed.
The Father isn't asking you to betray your intellect—He gave it to you. Right now He's celebrating that you won't settle for shallow answers, inviting you into a faith that satisfies both heart and mind.
