"The Bible contradicts itself, so it can't be trusted as truth."
How it sounds in your head: I found a list of 100 contradictions online. How can this be God's word when Matthew and Luke can't agree on basic facts? My youth pastor's explanations sound like excuses.
"All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness."
-- 2 Timothy 3:16Enemy highlighting surface tensions while hiding the profound unity across 40 authors and 1,500 years.
He compared Gospel accounts and found differences in details. Skeptic websites offer 'contradictions' his church never addressed, making him feel lied to.
The Ethiopian was reading Scripture he didn't understand, confused about the meaning. Philip explained it, and the man believed and was baptized immediately—no need to resolve every question first.
I REFUSE the lie that surface tensions in Scripture invalidate God's Word. IT IS WRITTEN that all Scripture is God-breathed and profitable. I don't need every answer to trust the Author. I am BARAK BLESSED with wisdom and revelation. IT IS WRITTEN that the Ethiopian believed before understanding everything. I receive confidence that the Word has withstood 2,000 years of smarter skeptics than me, and the Father gives me eyes to see truth.
The Father doesn't need you to defend the Bible—it's defended itself against Roman emperors and Enlightenment philosophers. He invites you to trust the story while wrestling with the details.
