Too Much
"I'm too intense for people. My emotions, my passion, my energy—it's all too much and drives everyone away."

How it sounds in your head: You saw how they looked at you when you got excited about that idea. You watched him pull back when you shared how you really felt. Your friends make jokes about your 'dramatics.' Even your mom says you're exhausting. You need to be less—less feeling, less talking, less caring, less YOU.

Zephaniah 3:17

"The LORD your God in your midst, The Mighty One, will save; He will rejoice over you with gladness, He will quiet you with His love, He will rejoice over you with singing."

-- Zephaniah 3:17
The enemy whispers you're too much, that your intensity exhausts God and people. BUT IT IS WRITTEN: Zephaniah 3:17—The LORD your God REJOICES over you with singing. Not tolerates. Not endures. REJOICES. With GLADNESS. The Creator of the universe breaks into SONG over you. Your passion doesn't drain Him—it DELIGHTS Him. He made you this way on purpose.
Quick Truth: LIE: I'm too intense. TRUTH: God REJOICES over you with singing—your passion delights Him (Zeph 3:17)

Enemy's accusation combined with a world that fears feminine emotion and religious teachings that equate godliness with being palatable and 'appropriate.'

Why this feels true:

You've literally watched people's faces change when you express enthusiasm or deep feeling. You've been told to 'calm down' or 'relax' so many times you've started policing yourself before others do it for you.

John 12:3
Mary of Bethany

Mary broke an entire year's wages worth of perfume on Jesus' feet in an emotional, extravagant act that horrified the disciples who called it wasteful and inappropriate. Jesus defended her instantly, saying she'd done a beautiful thing and would be remembered forever for this 'too much' moment.

Speak this out loud

I REFUSE the lie that I am too intense, too emotional, too much. IT IS WRITTEN that the LORD rejoices over me with singing—my passion delights Him, not drains Him. I was created with this capacity for deep feeling, strong conviction, and fierce love because I bear the image of a God who FEELS intensely. IT IS WRITTEN in Zephaniah 3:17 that He rejoices over me with gladness. I am the BARAK-blessed daughter of Abraham, and blessing flows through me even when others can't handle my fullness. I don't shrink to fit their comfort; I expand into His delight.

But God actually:

Your Father is running toward you with arms wide open, not asking you to tone down but celebrating every ounce of passion He placed in you. He's not waiting for you to become more manageable—He's singing over the magnificent intensity He designed into your DNA.
