"I'm too damaged by my past to be used by God now."
How it sounds in your head: I've made choices I can't undo. My body count matters. My abortion, my assault, my addiction—it's all on my record. I see other girls in ministry, in leadership, and I think, 'That could never be me. I'm too far gone.'
"So I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten, The crawling locust, The consuming locust, And the chewing locust, My great army which I sent among you."
-- Joel 2:25Enemy + religion: The accuser uses guilt plus religious purity culture to convince you that past sin or trauma disqualifies you from future purpose.
You carry secret shame that feels like a permanent stain. You've heard sermons about purity that made you feel unredeemable. You compare your past to others' seeming innocence and assume God has a second-tier plan for damaged people.
Rahab was a PROSTITUTE in a pagan city marked for destruction. One act of faith—hiding the spies—and she was INSTANTLY saved, brought into Israel, married to a prince, and placed in the MESSIANIC LINE. Jesus' genealogy includes a former prostitute because God specializes in redemption.
I REFUSE the lie that my past disqualifies my future. IT IS WRITTEN that God RESTORES the years the locust has eaten—what was lost, stolen, or given away is REDEEMED, not wasted. My damage is not my identity; my REDEMPTION is. IT IS WRITTEN that there is NO CONDEMNATION in Christ Jesus—none. The BARAK blessing covers me based on COVENANT, not conduct. Rahab was a prostitute and made it into Jesus' family tree. I am not too damaged to be used—I am PERFECTLY POSITIONED to set captives free with my testimony. My past is not my prison—it's my PLATFORM.
Your Father doesn't see your past and write you off—He sees it and says 'PERFECT. Now watch what I do with this.' The prodigal came home smelling like pigs, and his father threw a PARTY. Your damage doesn't disqualify you; it's the setup for His GLORY.
