"My questions and curiosity are annoying and disruptive"
How it sounds in your head: Every time I ask 'why,' adults get irritated. Teachers tell me to stop interrupting. My parents say I ask too many questions. I'm just trying to understand, but I feel like I'm bothering everyone.
"It is the glory of God to conceal a matter, but the glory of kings is to search out a matter."
-- Proverbs 25:2Religious and educational systems that value compliance over curiosity, crushing the image of God that seeks to KNOW.
He's been shushed or dismissed when asking questions. Authority figures have shown frustration at his curiosity, making him believe wonder is a disruption rather than a gift.
At twelve years old, Jesus sat in the temple asking the teachers SO MANY QUESTIONS that He stayed there for DAYS. Everyone was ASTONISHED at His questions and answers—His curiosity didn't annoy them; it AMAZED them.
I REFUSE the lie that my questions are annoying or that my curiosity is a problem. IT IS WRITTEN that it's the glory of KINGS to search out a matter, and I am a SON OF THE KING. My questions are not disruptions—they are invitations from the Father to know Him more. IT IS WRITTEN that I am blessed with wisdom and understanding, and that includes the desire to ASK. The BARAK blessing over my life means I have divine favor to learn, to grow, to understand. I am not a bother—I am a SEEKER. God loves my questions because every question is me reaching toward Him. I walk in the confidence that the Father WANTS to reveal truth to me, and my curiosity is His design in me.
The Father doesn't sigh when you ask 'why.' He smiles. Every question you ask is proof you're HIS son, seeking truth like He does. He's not frustrated—He's EXCITED to show you the answers, layer by layer, truth by truth.
