"I'm just taking up space and resources that others could use better"
How it sounds in your head: I'm consuming but not producing. Living at home, or barely making it, while others are building careers and families. I'm a drain on resources—money, time, attention—that could go to someone who'd actually do something with it.
"Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?"
-- Matthew 6:26Poverty mindset combined with scarcity theology that measures worth by economic productivity, rooted in worldly systems, not Kingdom abundance.
Financial dependence or struggle makes every meal, every expense feel like theft from someone more deserving. Society screams that value equals output.
Mephibosheth was crippled, hiding in poverty, producing nothing, contributing nothing to society. King David sought him out, restored ALL of Saul's land to him, and gave him permanent place at the king's table—instant wealth and position based purely on covenant, not capability.
I REFUSE the lie that I'm wasting resources. IT IS WRITTEN that I am of more value than birds, and the Father feeds them without their striving. My worth isn't measured by productivity but by position as a SON. IT IS WRITTEN that Christ redeemed me from the curse so the blessing of Abraham would rest on me. That BARAK blessing protected liars and deceivers—how much MORE does it cover me in better covenant? Like Mephibosheth, I eat at the King's table not because I earned it but because of COVENANT. I am blessed in my storehouses, and the Lord commands blessing on everything I touch.
David didn't ask Mephibosheth what he could contribute—he RAN to find him and lavish him with inheritance purely because of covenant. The Father isn't calculating your ROI; He's preparing your seat at His table.
