"I'm facing death itself - no human authority can fight that spiritual force."
How it sounds in your head: Death is coming for me, maybe soon. That's the ultimate enemy. What authority do I have over DEATH? Men don't win that battle. It feels like the one fight I can't win.
"O Death, where is your sting? O Hades, where is your victory?"
-- 1 Corinthians 15:55Enemy presenting death as unconquered force - hiding that Christ already destroyed death's power completely.
Death is imminent, tangible, inevitable at 90+. Everyone dies. Doctors can't stop it. Feels like the unbeatable enemy. Natural reality seems to overrule spiritual authority.
Stephen faced death by stoning - but instead of fear, he SAW heaven opened and Jesus standing. He died with authority, forgiving his killers and seeing glory. Death was his servant, not his conqueror - it delivered him instantly to Jesus.
I REFUSE the lie that death is an unconquered enemy. IT IS WRITTEN: 'O Death, where is your sting?' - Paul MOCKED death because Jesus stripped it of all power. Death is not my enemy - it's my SERVANT, a doorway into glory where I see Jesus face to face. IT IS WRITTEN that Jesus destroyed him who had the power of death. I walk through this valley with ROD and STAFF, with AUTHORITY, not as a victim but as a KING entering his throne room. The BARAK blessing guarantees my enemies are defeated - and death is just another defeated foe under my feet. I am not dying defeated - I am graduating VICTORIOUS. Every breath I take is a testimony that Christ IN me has already conquered the grave.
The Father isn't watching you fight a losing battle with death. He's watching you walk through a doorway He already opened, into arms He's already opened wide. Death lost its power the moment His Son walked out of the tomb - now it's just transportation home.
