"I'm burned out because I lack discipline or anointing—if I were truly called, I'd have supernatural energy for this."
How it sounds in your head: Other leaders seem to thrive under pressure. Your exhaustion proves you're not cut out for this. If you were REALLY anointed, the grace would be there. Maybe you're operating in your own strength instead of God's calling, which is why it's draining you.
"Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall, but those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint."
-- Isaiah 40:30-31Source: super-spiritualized version of burnout that blames the person instead of acknowledging the human limits Jesus Himself honored in His own body.
She sees other women's highlight reels—leading huge teams, homeschooling, launching books—and they all LOOK energized while she can barely get out of bed. The comparison makes her exhaustion feel like spiritual failure rather than biological reality.
David returned to find his city burned and families kidnapped. His own men talked of STONING him. 'But David strengthened himself in the Lord his God'—he didn't power through or fake energy; he waited on God and was INSTANTLY renewed for battle and victory.
I REFUSE the lie that my burnout reveals lack of calling or anointing. IT IS WRITTEN that even youths faint and young men fall—exhaustion is HUMAN, not spiritual failure. Jesus Himself slept, fasted, and withdrew when weary. My need for rest doesn't disqualify me; ignoring it does. IT IS WRITTEN that David was so depleted his own army wanted to stone him, but he strengthened himself in the Lord and had INSTANT breakthrough. The BARAK blessing includes divine rest and renewal—waiting on God isn't weakness, it's the source of mounting up with wings like eagles.
The Father is carrying you to the boat's cushion where Jesus slept during the storm, saying, 'I never asked you to be more than human—I asked you to be MINE.' He's been waiting for you to stop striving long enough to receive the supernatural rest that makes the next season possible.
