"I'm a burden to everyone and they'd be better off without me."
How it sounds in your head: You require extra help, extra time, extra resources. You're exhausting. People are tired of accommodating you. You're just a weight dragging everyone down.
"Even to your old age, I am He, and even to gray hairs I will carry you! I have made, and I will bear; even I will carry, and will deliver you."
-- Isaiah 46:4Enemy + trauma: Satan is the accuser who whispers you're too much, while past experiences of exhaustion or rejection seem to confirm it.
You've seen the frustration on faces when plans have to change for you. You've heard the sighs. Independence is worshiped in this culture and you require interdependence.
So paralyzed he needed FOUR friends to carry him, they destroyed someone's ROOF to get him to Jesus, creating chaos and property damage. Jesus' response? Immediate healing and 'Your sins are forgiven' - rewarded the disruption with complete restoration.
I REFUSE the lie that I am a burden. IT IS WRITTEN: God Himself carries me, bears me, and delights in me. I am NOT too much - I am God's workmanship created in Christ Jesus (Ephesians 2:10). The Father SINGS over me with gladness. IT IS WRITTEN: I am fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14). The BARAK blessing makes me the head and not the tail - I bring BLESSING wherever I go, not burden. I am loved, wanted, and celebrated. My need for help is not weakness but the beautiful design of community God intended.
The Father doesn't tolerate you - He DELIGHTS in you. Like the prodigal who needed the robe, the ring, the sandals, the feast - your needs don't exhaust God; they give Him opportunities to demonstrate His lavish love.
