"My body's limitations are punishment for something I did or didn't do."
How it sounds in your head: You've replayed it a thousand times—if only you'd made different choices, been more careful, prayed harder, lived cleaner. Other guys your age are playing basketball with their sons. You're managing pain and limitations. There must be a reason God allowed this, and the most obvious reason is you.
"Jesus answered, 'Neither this man nor his parents sinned, but that the works of God should be revealed in him.'"
-- John 9:3Religion's karma doctrine: teaching that suffering is divine punishment, making God a cosmic scorekeeper instead of the Father who became a curse FOR us.
The timing lines up with regrets—a past sin, a foolish decision, a season of rebellion. The Christian karma teaching ('you reap what you sow') sounds biblical enough to make you wonder if your limitation is harvest from bad seed you planted years ago.
Blind from birth, everyone assumed it was punishment for someone's sin. Jesus said NO—neither his sin nor his parents' sin caused it, and then INSTANTLY healed him with mud and spit. The limitation wasn't punishment; it was setup for a miracle that would reveal God's glory.
I REFUSE the lie that my body's condition is punishment for my past. IT IS WRITTEN that Jesus answered clearly—NEITHER this man nor his parents sinned to cause his condition. Christ has REDEEMED me from EVERY curse, becoming a curse for me. There is THEREFORE NOW no condemnation for those in Christ Jesus—and I am IN CHRIST. My limitation is not divine payback; it's enemy assignment that has NO LEGAL GROUND because the blood covers what religion tries to uncover. IT IS WRITTEN that the blessing of Abraham is mine through Christ—and that blessing protected liars, deceivers, and murderers, not because they were good, but because of COVENANT. How much more does His blood protect me? I am not punished. I am beloved. I am blessed.
The Father isn't keeping score of your failures to determine your body's condition—He's declaring over you what He declared over the prodigal while he still smelled like pigs: 'This is MY SON.' No punishment. No probation. Just sonship, celebration, and the fattened calf prepared for your return.
