"I can't serve God or do anything significant because of my physical limitations."
How it sounds in your head: Ministry and missions are for healthy, capable people. You can't even do normal things—how could God use you? You'll sit on the sidelines while others do important kingdom work. Your disability disqualifies you from meaningful service.
"But God has chosen the foolish things of the world to put to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to put to shame the things which are mighty."
-- 1 Corinthians 1:27Religious performance system that equates ministry effectiveness with physical capability and activity.
Most church service opportunities emphasize physical labor, travel, or abilities he doesn't have, reinforcing the message that usefulness requires capability.
Speech impediment, couldn't speak well, argued with God about being disqualified. God said, 'Who made your mouth? Now GO, and I will be with your mouth.' Used him to deliver an entire nation despite his 'disability.'
I REFUSE the lie that God can't use me. IT IS WRITTEN that God chooses the WEAK things to shame the mighty—my limitation is my qualification. I am not sidelined; I am strategically positioned. The same Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead lives in ME and empowers me for every good work. IT IS WRITTEN that I am His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works which God prepared beforehand that I should walk in them. My disability doesn't limit God's plans—it showcases His power. I am blessed and a blessing everywhere I go.
The Father isn't looking for capability—He's looking for availability. He's not disappointed in what you can't do; He's excited about what HE will do through you as you simply say yes.
