"My wheelchair and limitations define who I am to everyone who sees me."
How it sounds in your head: They see the wheelchair first, the old man second, YOU never. Every conversation is louder and slower like you're mentally gone. You've become your limitations in their eyes—no longer a man with a name and a story.
"For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God."
-- Colossians 3:3World system that defines people by external capacity rather than internal identity in Christ.
People's eyes go to the wheelchair before your face. Conversations shift to medical questions instead of real connection. Decades of being seen as capable provider now reduced to object of pity.
Crippled in both feet from childhood, living in exile and poverty. David brought him to the palace and said, 'You shall eat at my table ALWAYS'—not as charity but as ROYALTY. His disability was mentioned but never became his identity—he was forever after known as the one who ate at the king's table.
I REFUSE the lie that my limitations define me to God or determine my value to others. IT IS WRITTEN that my life is hidden with Christ in God—my TRUE identity is concealed where physical eyes can't reach. What people see is temporary housing; WHO I AM is eternal and seated with Christ in heavenly places. IT IS WRITTEN that I am blessed in the city and in the field, mobile or not. The BARAK blessing doesn't recognize wheelchairs or walkers. I eat at the King's table as ROYALTY, not as someone defined by what my body can or cannot do. My story, my wisdom, my presence—these release blessing.
The Father doesn't see the wheelchair—He sees the son He's running toward. Every limitation in the natural is an opportunity for His supernatural. He's not embarrassed by your dependencies; He's showcasing His sufficiency through them.
