"I'll start giving once I have a real job and steady income."
How it sounds in your head: You're just a kid with no real money. Wait until you're an adult with a career, then you can give properly. Starting now doesn't make sense when amounts are so small.
"Honor the LORD with your possessions, and with the firstfruits of all your increase."
-- Proverbs 3:9World: Delay tactics that keep you from establishing Kingdom patterns early, ensuring you'll be too 'responsible' to be generous later.
You have maybe $50 to your name and no consistent income. Waiting until you have a salary seems like the mature, responsible approach—then you can give 'real' amounts that actually make a difference.
A kid with a small lunch—five barley loaves and two fish—gave it to Jesus when it seemed insignificant compared to 5,000 hungry people. Jesus multiplied that kid's lunch to feed thousands with twelve baskets left over. Small offering, massive miracle.
I REFUSE the lie that I should wait until I'm older to start giving. IT IS WRITTEN to honor the Lord with the firstfruits of ALL my increase—and my increase starts NOW. I don't despise small beginnings because God doesn't. The boy with five loaves didn't wait until he had a bakery; he gave his lunch and Jesus fed thousands. IT IS WRITTEN that faithful in little means faithful in much. The BARAK blessing isn't waiting for me to grow up—it's active NOW, covering me like it covered Abraham and Isaac and Jacob. I establish generosity as my pattern today, and my Father prepares floodgates for tomorrow. I'm not too young to be a giver; I'm perfectly positioned to learn early what takes others decades.
Your Father isn't waiting for you to get a career before He can use you. He's watching that $10 in your hand right now with MORE excitement than He watches millionaires' offerings, because He knows what He's about to build in your life from this small seed. You're not too young—you're early, and early means you get a head start on miracles.
