"I'll start giving when I have more; God understands my situation."
How it sounds in your head: Once I get ahead, once I have breathing room, THEN I'll be generous. Right now I'm just trying to survive. God knows my heart—He knows I WOULD give if I could. Intention counts.
"You have sown much, and bring in little; you eat, but do not have enough; you drink, but you are not filled with drink; you clothe yourselves, but no one is warm; and he who earns wages, earns wages to put into a bag with holes."
-- Haggai 1:6Enemy uses delay to permanently lock the door that releases provision—'later' never comes.
It feels responsible and logical—get stable FIRST, then give from surplus. Waiting until he has more seems like wisdom, not disobedience.
They said 'the time has not come' to rebuild God's house, so they built their OWN houses first. Result: crop failure, drought, wages disappearing—total frustration. The MOMENT they obeyed and put God first, He said 'From this day I will BLESS you' (Haggai 2:19).
I REFUSE the lie that 'later' is wisdom—IT IS WRITTEN that delay produces bags with holes where wages disappear. God FIRST releases blessing; God LAST produces frustration. The BARAK blessing doesn't wait for my comfort—it responds to my OBEDIENCE now. IT IS WRITTEN in Matthew 6:33, 'Seek FIRST the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and ALL these things shall be added to you.' I don't wait for more to give—I give NOW and watch God multiply it. My provision comes from putting Him FIRST, not from waiting until I feel safe.
Your Father isn't waiting for you to GET more before you give—He's waiting for you to TRUST Him so He can give you more. Like the father who placed the robe on the prodigal BEFORE he cleaned up, God's provision comes FIRST when you put Him first.
