"I can give directly to people in need—I don't need the church middleman."
How it sounds in your head: Why funnel money through an organization with overhead and budgets? You can be more efficient giving directly to the homeless, your struggling friend, or a missionary. Cut out the middleman and see exactly where your money goes.
"Bring all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be food in My house, and try Me now in this, says the LORD of hosts, if I will not open for you the windows of heaven and pour out for you such blessing that there will not be room enough to receive it."
-- Malachi 3:10Enemy: independence and control, rejecting God's prescribed order for blessing in favor of your own system.
Churches have administrative costs and you can't track exactly where every dollar goes. Direct giving feels more personal, accountable, and efficient. You see immediate impact instead of trusting a system.
They sold land and gave PART to the church but CLAIMED they gave ALL—they wanted credit for full obedience while keeping control. God struck them dead not for giving less, but for LYING about submission to God's order—the consequence of playing games with covenant giving was immediate and severe.
I REFUSE the lie that I can bypass the storehouse. IT IS WRITTEN: Bring tithes into the STOREHOUSE, and THERE the windows of Heaven open. I can give offerings anywhere, but my tithe has a prescribed place—the house of God where the Gospel goes forth. I am under the BARAK blessing where God COMMANDED blessing on storehouses—not on my personal charity fund. IT IS WRITTEN: I don't get to redesign God's system and still claim His promises. I submit to His order, and I position myself under open Heaven. The storehouse isn't a middleman—it's the trigger point for covenant blessing.
The Father watches you try to improve His system and gently redirects—'Son, I love your generous heart, but the windows of Heaven are attached to the storehouse, not your direct deposit.' He's not being bureaucratic; He's protecting the blessing that comes through covenant order, and He wants you positioned where the downpour hits.
