"I'll never be normal—I'm just mentally defective and there's no hope"
How it sounds in your head: I've been depressed for so long I don't remember what happy feels like. Other people seem to have normal brains and I got stuck with a broken one. This is just who I am—the mentally ill kid. Why even try? It's never going to change.
"Through the Lord's mercies we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness."
-- Lamentations 3:22-23Hopelessness from the enemy convincing you that your current state is permanent identity, ignoring God's power to renew minds and heal broken things.
He's tried prayer, read his Bible, even fasted once, and nothing changed. The depression is still there every morning. The lack of breakthrough feels like proof this is just permanent—his defective brain is his destiny.
She had a bleeding disorder for TWELVE YEARS, spent all her money on doctors who made her worse, and had zero improvement. The moment she touched Jesus' garment, she was IMMEDIATELY healed—twelve years of suffering ended in one second. Chronic does not mean permanent.
I REFUSE the lie that my mental illness is permanent identity. IT IS WRITTEN that His mercies are NEW every morning—what I've experienced for years can change in a MOMENT. The woman with the issue of blood suffered TWELVE YEARS and was healed INSTANTLY. Lazarus was dead FOUR DAYS and Jesus raised him with one word. IT IS WRITTEN that God makes ALL things new (Rev 21:5)—not some things, ALL things. My brain is not beyond His reach. I am NOT my diagnosis; I am a SON of God, FULLY RIGHTEOUS, covered by the BARAK blessing that declares I am ABOVE and not BENEATH, the HEAD and not the TAIL. Breakthrough is possible TODAY.
The Father sees you in the pit of hopelessness and He's not agreeing with your despair—He's declaring over you 'NEW MERCIES TODAY.' He's not counting how long you've struggled; He's preparing the suddenly that will shock everyone who knew your story.
