"My intrusive thoughts and dark mental battles mean I'm not really saved."
How it sounds in your head: The thoughts that come into my head are so dark, so violent, so blasphemous - if I were truly saved, I wouldn't think these things. Maybe I never really had faith. Maybe I'm too broken for God.
"Yet Michael the archangel, in contending with the devil, when he disputed about the body of Moses, dared not bring against him a reviling accusation, but said, 'The Lord rebuke you!'"
-- Jude 1:9Enemy accusation weaponizing normal brain function as evidence of lost salvation.
The thoughts feel so contrary to what he believes that they seem like proof of an unchanged heart. The shame is so intense he can't imagine other believers experience the same intrusive patterns.
Satan accused Job to his face and God allowed the attack - but God called Job 'blameless and upright' BEFORE, DURING, and AFTER the assault. The enemy's accusations didn't change Job's standing with God by one degree.
I REFUSE the lie that mental battles prove lost salvation. IT IS WRITTEN that Michael the archangel himself contended with demonic disputes. These intrusive thoughts are the enemy's ATTACKS, not my IDENTITY. I am sealed by the Holy Spirit unto the day of redemption - no thought can break that seal. IT IS WRITTEN in Romans 8:38-39 that NOTHING can separate me from the love of God in Christ. My righteousness is Christ's righteousness credited to my account, unchanged by mental warfare. The BARAK blessing rests on me because of covenant, not because of thought patterns. I stand blameless before the Father through Jesus' blood.
Your Father sees the battle and credits you with Christ's righteousness in the middle of the war. He's not waiting for your mind to clear - He's already placed the ring on your finger while the thoughts still rage.
