"I'll be okay alone. Needing people is what got me hurt in the first place."
How it sounds in your head: You were fine before you let them in. The hurt started when you needed someone. If you can just be self-sufficient, nobody can disappoint you. Alone is safer than attached. Independence is strength.
"Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their labor. For if they fall, one will lift up his companion. But woe to him who is alone when he falls, for he has no one to help him up."
-- Ecclesiastes 4:9-10Enemy strategy to isolate you from the body of Christ by making independence look like strength when God designed you for CONNECTION, not isolation.
The pain DID start when you depended on someone who let you down. Being alone eliminates the variable of human failure. Self-sufficiency feels like control after chaos.
Elijah declared 'I alone am left' after Jezebel's threats, convinced isolation was survival. God IMMEDIATELY corrected him: 'I have reserved 7,000 who have not bowed to Baal.' The moment Elijah admitted his loneliness, God revealed the community he'd been blind to.
I REFUSE the lie that I'm safer alone and that needing people is weakness. IT IS WRITTEN that two are better than one and it is NOT GOOD for man to be alone. I am not defined by self-sufficiency—I am defined as a BRANCH connected to the Vine, designed for relationship. IT IS WRITTEN that I am a member of the body of Christ, and the eye cannot say to the hand 'I don't need you' (1 Cor 12:21). I am BARAK-blessed with covenant community, safe connection, and the Father's family. I am built for RELATIONSHIP, not isolation.
The Father doesn't say 'Toughen up and handle it alone'—He says 'You were NEVER meant to carry this by yourself.' He's not disappointed you need people; He DESIGNED you that way, and He's already prepared safe relationships that reflect His heart, running toward you with the family you didn't know was waiting.
