"Everyone who loved me is dead or gone - I'm alone in this final season."
How it sounds in your head: My husband is gone. My closest friends have passed. My children are busy with their own lives. I'm surrounded by strangers in this facility, and I'll die alone. The people who really knew me are all gone.
"For He Himself has said, 'I will never leave you nor forsake you.'"
-- Hebrews 13:5Enemy exploiting grief and isolation to obscure the Father's constant presence and new relationships He's preparing.
Real losses accumulate in the eighties - spouse death, friend deaths, facility living, and family distance are statistical realities that create profound loneliness.
Elijah felt completely alone, saying 'I alone am left,' believing everyone had abandoned God and him. God revealed He had 7,000 others Elijah didn't even know about, sent an angel to feed him, and gave him Elisha as a companion - all INSTANTLY when Elijah was at his lowest.
I REFUSE the lie that I am alone in this season. IT IS WRITTEN that God will NEVER leave me nor forsake me - and He is MORE present now than ever. My worth is not measured by who's still alive or who visits. IT IS WRITTEN that I am blessed in my latter days, the head and not the tail, above only and not beneath. The Father who fed Elijah by ravens and gave him companions when he felt alone is ALREADY preparing divine connections for me. I am the righteousness of God in Christ, and I am SURROUNDED by His presence, His angels, and His people RIGHT NOW.
The Father sees you in that facility chair and He's not waiting for visiting hours. He's sitting WITH you, holding the memories of every person you've lost, and whispering 'I'm still here - and I have people you haven't met yet who will love you in THIS season.' You're not abandoned. You're positioned for intimacy.
