"I'll be a terrible mother because I have no idea what healthy parenting looks like."
How it sounds in your head: I have no template. When I have kids, I'll either repeat what they did or overcorrect and mess up in the opposite direction. I'm terrified I'll damage my future children because I don't know what normal looks like.
"All your children shall be taught by the LORD, and great shall be the peace of your children."
-- Isaiah 54:13Enemy projecting past dysfunction onto future calling, denying the Spirit's ability to teach what parents failed to model.
Parenting skills are largely learned by observation, and she observed dysfunction. The fear of repetition or overcorrection feels legitimate given the lack of healthy modeling.
Raised by a Greek (unbelieving) father and Jewish mother/grandmother (Lois and Eunice). Despite mixed and imperfect background, became Paul's most trusted disciple and pastor of Ephesus—parental imperfection didn't disqualify his future impact or ability to lead/nurture others.
I REFUSE the lie that I'll be a terrible mother because of my parents' failures. IT IS WRITTEN my children will be TAUGHT BY THE LORD—not by my broken past but by HIS LIVING PRESENCE in me. I don't parent from a template of dysfunction; I parent from the SPIRIT who teaches me ALL things. IT IS WRITTEN I have the MIND OF CHRIST, supernatural wisdom, divine instincts that override any lack of modeling. The BARAK blessing makes me the HEAD and not the TAIL in parenting—blessed coming in and going out, blessed in the city and field, blessed in EVERY area including motherhood. My children will see JESUS in me, not my parents' failures. I am equipped, anointed, and TAUGHT BY GOD HIMSELF. I will be an EXCELLENT mother because HE is an excellent Father IN me.
Father isn't nervously wondering if you'll 'figure out' parenting—He's ALREADY equipped you with His Spirit who will guide you in REAL TIME, moment by moment, giving you exactly what your kids need because HE is parenting THROUGH you, not waiting for you to learn from a broken model.
