"If I were a better Christian, I wouldn't struggle with lust"
How it sounds in your head: I pray about it, I try to avoid triggers, but the thoughts keep coming back. Real Christians must not battle this. I must be fake or weak. Maybe I'm not even saved.
"For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh) nothing good dwells; for to will is present with me, but how to perform what is good I do not find. For the good that I will to do, I do not do; but the evil I will not to do, that I practice."

Your body is screaming with new desires you didn't ask for, and church makes it sound like 'real believers' just stop wanting what you can't stop wanting. The shame cycle feels endless.
David committed adultery with Bathsheba, got her pregnant, then murdered her husband to cover it up—adultery, deception, and murder. God called him 'a man after My own heart' AFTER this, and Jesus came through his bloodline.
I REFUSE the lie that my struggle with lust disqualifies me from God's love. IT IS WRITTEN that even Paul battled doing what he didn't want to do, and there was NO condemnation for it. I am not defined by my temptations—I am defined by CHRIST IN ME. My righteousness is not my resistance; it's HIS GIFT. IT IS WRITTEN that I am the righteousness of God in Christ, not because I conquered every thought, but because HE conquered death. I am a BRANCH connected to the VINE—purity flows FROM Him, not from my striving. The BARAK blessing covers me even in my weakness, just as it covered Abraham the liar and David the adulterer.
The Father doesn't love you LESS when you stumble—He moves CLOSER, like He did with David, calling him 'friend' even after murder. He's not shocked by your battle; He's ready with grace that's STRONGER than your struggle.
