"My mistakes make God angry and disappointed in me."
How it sounds in your head: When I mess up, I imagine God shaking His head like my coach does. I can almost feel His disappointment from heaven. Maybe He's waiting for me to get it together.
"As far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our transgressions from us."
-- Psalm 103:12Projection of human disappointment onto God, making Him a scorekeeper instead of a Father who ran toward the prodigal.
You see disappointment in adult faces when you fail. Your brain naturally projects that same reaction onto God, assuming He responds to your mistakes the same way people do.
The son demanded inheritance, blew it on prostitutes, came home reeking of pig farm. The Father RAN (undignified for his culture), embraced him dirty, and threw a party—restoration in 15 minutes, zero punishment.
I REFUSE the lie that God is disappointed in me. IT IS WRITTEN: He has removed my sins as far as east is from west. The Father RAN to the prodigal covered in pig stench. He's not angry—He's throwing me a PARTY. IT IS WRITTEN: There is NO condemnation for those in Christ. My mistakes don't change His heart toward me. I am under the BARAK blessing that protected even murderers by covenant. I declare God is FOR me, delighting in me, singing over me—not disappointed but CELEBRATING.
The Father isn't shaking His head—He's running toward you with the robe, ring, and sandals. Your mistakes don't shock Him or change His love; they're already covered by blood that speaks better things than Abel's.
