"I was abused so I'm too damaged for God to use powerfully"
How it sounds in your head: You carry decades of trauma—sexual abuse, emotional abuse, physical abuse. You're 73 and still triggered, still broken in ways you can't fix. Maybe God can use the 'whole' people powerfully, but you're too shattered, too much of a mess. Your brokenness disqualifies you from the front lines.
"And He said to me, 'My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness'"
-- 2 Corinthians 12:9Source: The enemy wants you to believe the damage done TO you disqualifies you FROM destiny
You still have nightmares. You still flinch. You still carry wounds that decades of prayer haven't fully healed. The brokenness feels like a permanent barrier between you and powerful use.
Tamar was RAPED by her half-brother Amnon, then told by her brother Absalom to 'be quiet' about it—sexual abuse compounded by silencing. Yet a DIFFERENT Tamar (Judah's daughter-in-law, also abused/mistreated) ended up in the MESSIANIC LINE. God puts the abused, not the abusers, in the lineage of Jesus.
I REFUSE the lie that my trauma disqualifies me from powerful use. IT IS WRITTEN that His strength is made PERFECT in my weakness—not despite it, but IN IT. My brokenness is not a barrier; it's the PLACE His power shines brightest. IT IS WRITTEN that He came to bind up the brokenhearted and give beauty for ashes—I am His specialty, not His reject pile. Tamar was raped and silenced, yet God put the abused in the Messianic line, not the abusers. My trauma is part of my TESTIMONY, not my disqualification. I am not too damaged; I am PERFECTLY positioned for His strength to be perfected. I step into POWERFUL use NOW.
The Father doesn't see damaged goods—He sees a daughter whose very brokenness is the CANVAS for His perfected strength. While you're cataloging your wounds as disqualifications, He's saying 'Those are exactly why I'm sending you. The broken bind up the broken. You're not too shattered—you're perfectly prepared.'
