"I got pregnant outside of marriage, so I'm permanently marked as the irresponsible one."
How it sounds in your head: Everyone knows. My body literally announced my failure to the world. Other girls get to start fresh with their reputations intact, but I'm forever 'the girl who got pregnant.' Even if I'm walking with God now, I feel like I'm always explaining or apologizing for my past.
"As far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our transgressions from us."
-- Psalm 103:12Source: Shame culture that puts a scarlet letter on visible sin while hiding 'respectable' sins like pride, judgment, and gossip.
She carried the physical evidence of her mistake for nine months while others' sins stayed hidden. The visibility of her failure feels like permanent disqualification from being seen as responsible or trustworthy.
Bathsheba committed adultery with King David, got pregnant outside of her marriage, and her husband was murdered to cover it up—a scandal of epic proportions. God didn't exile her or mark her as 'the adulteress.' He made her the mother of SOLOMON, the wisest king, and put her in the MESSIANIC LINE. She's in Matthew 1 as an ancestor of JESUS.
I REFUSE the lie that my pregnancy outside marriage marks me as irresponsible forever. IT IS WRITTEN that God has removed my transgressions as far as the east is from the west—REMOVED, not relocated. I am not defined by what everyone knows; I am defined by what GOD DECLARES. IT IS WRITTEN that He does not REMEMBER my sins—if He forgot, I can too. I am not 'the girl who got pregnant.' I am the RIGHTEOUSNESS of God in Christ Jesus. I walk in the BARAK blessing—what the enemy meant for shame, God is turning into a TESTIMONY of redemption. My past is not my identity. HIS BLOOD is.
The Father doesn't see a scarlet letter on your chest—He sees the crimson blood of His Son that washed you white as snow. Bathsheba's adultery and scandal didn't disqualify her from the lineage of Jesus. You think your pregnancy disqualified you? God is writing a story of REDEMPTION, not rejection.
