"I should prepare for death and get my affairs in order because fighting this is denial."
How it sounds in your head: Everyone's telling you to be realistic. Make a will. Have 'the talk' with your kids. Your wife is googling survival rates at 2am. Maybe fighting this is just pride—maybe wisdom is accepting reality and preparing your family.
"Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit."
-- Proverbs 18:21Religion disguises fatalism as humility; enemy repackages surrender as maturity.
Responsible men plan for contingencies, and everyone respects people who 'face reality with dignity.' Fighting feels like denial, and you don't want to be that guy grasping at false hope while your family suffers.
Lazarus was not just sick—he was DEAD for four days, body decomposing, professional mourners already hired, funeral concluded. Everyone had accepted reality and moved to grief management. Jesus showed up late on purpose and called him out of the tomb, rewrapping graveclothes and all.
I REFUSE the lie that accepting death is wisdom and fighting is denial. IT IS WRITTEN that death and life are in the power of MY tongue—I will not speak my own funeral into existence. Jesus called a four-day-dead corpse out of sealed tomb, and that same resurrection power lives in me. I am not preparing for death; I am enforcing the victory of the cross. IT IS WRITTEN that Christ abolished death and brought life and immortality to light through the gospel. My tongue is a weapon that speaks life, and I will eat the fruit of my words. I declare divine health, extended years, and fulfilled purpose.
The Father isn't asking you to nobly accept death—He sent Jesus specifically to DESTROY death's power over you. While you were still a sinner, Christ died for you; how much more now that you're His son does He delight in giving you abundant life, length of days, and the joy of seeing your children's children.
