"God is using this sickness to teach me something important I couldn't learn otherwise."
How it sounds in your head: Maybe this is God's classroom. Suffering produces perseverance, character, hope—it says so in Romans. Maybe you needed this to break your self-sufficiency and teach you dependency. Other people testify about lessons learned through sickness.
"Let no one say when he is tempted, 'I am tempted by God'; for God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does He Himself tempt anyone."
-- James 1:13Religion attributes the enemy's work to God's teaching; trauma reframes suffering as divine curriculum.
You have grown closer to God during this trial. You're praying more, reading Scripture more, depending on Him more. If all that good fruit came from sickness, maybe God orchestrated it to produce spiritual growth.
The enemy afflicted Job, NOT God. God permitted the test but explicitly told Satan, 'YOU have incited Me against him, to destroy him WITHOUT CAUSE.' After Job's trial, God didn't say, 'Great lessons learned!' He RESTORED double everything Job lost. The point was restoration, not education.
I REFUSE the lie that God authored my sickness to teach me lessons. IT IS WRITTEN that God does not tempt anyone with evil, and sickness IS evil. Jesus healed ALL who were oppressed by the DEVIL—the source is clear. God didn't make me sick to make me pray; the enemy attacked and God is extracting good from what He didn't design. IT IS WRITTEN that the thief comes to steal, kill, destroy, but Jesus comes to give ABUNDANT LIFE. I declare that every good and perfect gift comes from the Father of lights, and sickness is not a gift. I receive the healing Jesus died to provide, and I give God glory for restoration, not disease.
The Father isn't your celestial torturer using sickness as a teaching tool—He's your healer who takes the enemy's attack and turns it into testimony. He didn't give Job sickness to mature him; He RESTORED double after the enemy attacked. He's doing the same for you, not because you learned enough, but because goodness is who He is.
